DoCoMo announces deal to sell Windows cellphone
An interesting piece of news out of DoCoMo today -- they will be launching a Windows Mobile handset made by Taiwan's High Tech Computer in the second half of this year. This looks like a reaction to Vodafone's upcoming Exchange Server-syncing business email solution, which is generating quite a buzz--probably because it represents a Blackberry-like implementation that doesn't involve proprietary hardware/software, which has been a feature of a lot of Japanese solutions thus far. Now that DoCoMo is indicating its intention to play the same game, it'll be interesting to see who wins out in the handset stakes.
