QR code generator

dottoqr.jpgThose of you out there who are interested in QR codes may like this site (Japanese only), which will encode you an image that can be read by compatible DoCoMo, au, and Vodafone handsets. There are some differences between carrier in the format used, but this site encodes both types into a single image. It makes the file bigger, but we're not talking about anything really sizeable to begin with.

For those who haven't heard of QR codes, they're a form of barcode that encode various kinds of text information, such as URLs, in a form that can be read by many cameraphone handsets here. The most common usage is that you'd snap the code printed on a poster or in a magazine to jump to an advertiser's website. The one on the right should take you to dottocomu. Unfortunately we don't have a keitai version, so your phone browser will snap cleanly in half if you try and jump to the link. Sorry.
