Vodafone's (possibly) radical new cellphone
We're having trouble working out exactly what is so innovative about this phone, apart from the look of it, since Vodafone's website is extremely long on hot air and short on details, but this looks like the company's attempt to claw back some cred and market share by partnering with phone manufacturers to create its new handsets, much like KDDI's au Design Project.
The key specs are a 2.2-inch superfine polysilicon TFT display, 320,000 pixel camera with which you can shoot stills or up to 3 minutes of video, and, er, 40-note polyphonic modern jazz ringtones presinstalled. Wow. There's also a desktop cradle, though there's no clue offered as to whether this is for charging or also allows syncing with a PC.
Out sometime in May, open-priced.
