Two new mobile printers

Two new mobile printers, from Brother and Canon.
Brother's MW-140BT is a compact, slim (W100 x D160 x H17.5 mm) 300x300 dpi device with Bluetooth and USB connections that fills out their mobile printer lineup to three models*. Prints on photographic paper as well as the normal stuff (A7 size). Comes with Pocket PC/Palm/PC software. Runs on a rechargeable lithium-ion battery; one charge is enough to print 100+ sheets. Out on March 16 in Japan; should cost about Y40,000.
*(They already make an IrDA model, the MW-100e, and an enterprise version, the MW-120, which comes with a developer kit for things like printing over a network from a cellphone using a Java app.)
Canon's PIXUS 80i is a slightly bigger (W310 x D174 x H51.8 mm) but altogether more serious affair, offering up to 4,800x1,200dpi, and 10 pages per minute of colour printing (14 for mono; note that a full-sized A4 colour image takes 2m 35s per sheet). Connections are USB or IR, plus Bluetooth with an add-on module (Y8,500). Also supports PictBridge for direct printing from digicams. Runs on standard batteries using a cradle (Y15,800) or from a car cigarette lighter using an adapter (Y9,800). Out early March in Japan; should cost around Y30,000.
