Dream machine
Takara, whose gadgets seem to get progressively wackier with each successive release, have come up with a machine that allows you to "choose your dreams". You stick a photo or image relating to your dream on the front of the machine to stare at before sleeping, record a message outlining your preferred dream, choose some music of the appropriate theme (romance, adventure, etc.) and allow it to lull you to sleep with a combination of the music and aromatherapy. When you're fully into REM sleep it replays the music and your recorded spiel at low volume, then gently wakes you up with more music and light so that you don't go and forget what you just dreamed about.
Press reports out at the moment are a verbatim account of the press demo, but we have an intrepid friend who will actually be testing the thing soon--we'll be sure to report back with the details.
