Huge crablike rescue robot
We've been looking for a photo of this since it was featured in the press last week, and finally, some luck. Kyushu startup tmsuk has developed a rescue robot, the T-52 Enryu, that looks like the child of a Matrix exoskeleton and a power shovel. 3.5m high and weighing 5 tons, it can be either driven or controlled remotely (this latter feature is we guess what makes it a "robot") using the 7 6.8-megapixel CCD cams mounted on the head, torso and arms. Its arms, which have the same range of movement as the human version, can apparently lift objects weighing up to a ton.
