20.7 megapixel camera back from Fujitsu

Fujitsu has announced a 20.68 million pixel digital back for its GX680 medium-format SLR that takes pictures up to 7,648uc0u215 5,408 pixels in size. At 'b42.38 mn (plus the cost of the GX680 to attach it to) and weighing 830 g this is not for everyone, but we imagine it's a piece of kit that professional photographers for print media will be interested in. (We're no digicam experts, but we're told this is still an area in which it's horribly difficult to work with digital, mainly for the obvious reason that it's hard to ensure that the colours you see on the monitor in the studio will bear any relation to what comes out in print.) Available from late January 2004 in Japan.
