FOMA-to-PC videophone: We have lift-off

Seems DoCoMo is moving to address one of the shortcomings I (and doubtless myriad others) had pointed out regarding FOMA videoconferencing--the inability to conference with anything other than another FOMA phone. From February the company is to begin a test service for users of NTT-BB's Broba ADSL that will allow video communication between a FOMA handset and a PC.

NTT's press release gives some more of the techy ins and outs of the system. They also diligently explain the meaning of the words "resonant" and "ubiquitous", a hangover I imagine from the Japanese version...
