Tu-Ka's less sucky phone

A number of places have written up Kyocera's new TK41 handset (for the Tu-Ka cellular service, a subsidiary--or rather destitute cousin--of current industry darling KDDI) because it's supposedly the world's lightest (89g) and thinnest (18.8mm). We have to admit we're not all that impressed, though; Tu-Ka's phones and service have had a fairly high wackness quotient since way back, and this is just a small step toward lowering it. Thinness aside, the specs--310,000 pixel camera, 2 inch TFT screen--are pretty average.
Another thing that rubs us up the wrong way is that the company has been running a very high-profile ad campaign that disses cameraphones and gadgetry and extols the virtues of "just talking"; seems all that was indeed "just talk", as their latest product is a cameraphone with an upgraded web browser.
